About Us
The name Serpentine comes from the fact that the two founders, Sean and Lish, are wildlife biologists. One day while surveying for desert tortoises in the Mojave desert and contemplating names for the cidery, Sean stepped on a baby sidewinder. That sealed the name Serpentine Cider!
Our cider is made from fresh-pressed apple juice, currently sourced from the Northwest. We use herbs, spices and real fruit to make our different ciders. We will never use artificial ingredients, concentrates, or extracts.
All our ciders are very low in sugar (some even have zero grams of sugar!) so you can feel good about what you are drinking!
Tasting Rooms
Our vision for the Miralani Makers’ District space was a collaborative one. We share the tasting room with an award-winning craft meadery, Lost Cause. Smokin J’s BBQ has delicious food for meat-eaters and vegans alike: everything is made from scratch, in-house, with no shortcuts taken. Now open for lunch! We host trivia here every Wednesday from 6-8pm!
We always welcome well-behaved pets and children!
Our tasting room in University Heights on El Cajon Boulevard is now open too! We host trivia here every Tuesday from 6:30-8:30. Outside food is welcome at this location and we have many great local restaurants just a block or two away.
A flight fit for Pride month! All natural colors and flavors-always.

Breweries around the world using their craft to fight racial injustice

Out and About: Serpentine Cider
Sean's ciders are made with real, fresh fruit...no sugar added. In fact, he says he is often invited to people's backyards in San Diego so he can pick their fruit to turn into cider. He says he doesn't use concentrates in his cider and everything is dry to off-dry so it's not too sweet. Sean likes to say Serpentine Cider is cider for people who don't like cider!
